Ariane da Silva vs Wang Cong prediction
Ariane da Silva (17-10) came into the weigh-ins six pounds over on Friday and this was reportedly down to treatment for a benign tumour in her camp. Her preparatiosn for this bout appear to be somewhat disrupted which does not bode well when she is trying to bounce back from successive losses.
The Brazilian has not won in the last 18 month and her losses to Karine Silva and then Jasmine Jasudavicius in 2024 were somewhat disappointing. She will be desperate to avoid losing for a third successive fight for the first time in her career.
She takes on Wang Cong (7-1) who is making the most of her short time as a professional MMA fighter. The former kickboxer has wasted no time in transitioning to MMA and she will look to build o her unanimous decision win over Bruna Brasil at UFC 312 back in February.
Her only loss came at the hands of Gabriella Fernandes last November as she was submitted but otherwise she looks a highly accomplished fighter in the women’s flyweight division.
We like Cong’s chances of getting another win here. Ariane da Silva’s preparations have not been ideal and her form has not been great. She has been on something of a slide of late and with Cong possessing plenty of momentum, we like her chances of getting the victory.
