Borussia Monchengladbach preview: Solid Gladbach

Borussia Monchengladbach come into this one on the back of a thrilling 3-3 draw against Cologne a couple of weeks ago, having gone ahead and then behind before conceding a late equaliser to eventually sent off Eric Martel.

That draw means that they have now suffered just one defeat in their last four matches as they begin to rediscover their form under the management of young coach Eugen Polanski.

Heidenheim preview: Relegation-bound

They now face a Heidenheim side that are rock-bottom and begin the match day siting nine points adrift of safety with just three victories in their 27 matches, albeit they did show some fight just before the international break.

The visitors went 2-0 down at home to Bayer Leverkusen and then 3-2 down late on but twice they managed to fight back to share a thrilling 3-3 draw with the top four chasing Leverkusen a couple of weeks ago.

Borussia Monchengladbach team news: Castrop a doubt

South Korea international defensive midfielder Jens Castrop is a fresh doubt for Borussia Monchengladbach, while experienced attacker Tim Kleindienst is fighting his way back from a knee injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Nicolas; Sander, Elvedi, Diks; Scally, Reitz, Engelhardt, Freidrich; Honorat, Stoger; Tabakovic

Unavailable: Ngoumou (Injured), Hack (Injured)

Questionable: Takai (Injured), Jastrop (Injured), Kleindienst (Injured)

Heidenheim team news: Schoppner suspended

Heidenheim midfielder Jan Schoppner is now unavailable for the visitors this weekend as he is missing through suspension, while versatile attacker Mikkel Kaufmann is also a doubt due to injury, too.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Ramaj; Busch, Mainka, Gimber, Behrens; Kerber, Niehues, Dorsch; Dinkci, Zivzivadze, Conteh

Unavailable: Paqarada (Injured), Schoppner (Suspended)

Questionable: Kaufmann (Injured)

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Heidenheim prediction

Heidenheim are now winless in their last 14 matches. They are badly struggling and are destined to eventually drop after narrowly escaping via the relegation playoff places last season. Borussia Monchengladbach, who have shown signs of improvement, would have to be viewed as the firm favourites for this one, especially with their home advantage.
