Alexandra Subladze qualified in Hong Kong after beating Emerson Jones in the final stage. The 21-year-old has won six lower-tier events and moved up to a career high ranking of 132 in the world last month. Shubladze has won 39 of her 48 matches in 2026 on outdoor hard court, and she will be hoping for the biggest win of her career against Liudmila Samsonova in the first-round.

The former world number 12’s poor form continued last time out, following a three set loss to Heather Watson in Tokyo qualifying. That extended her losing streak to three matches overall. Samsonova did pick up her best result of the season in September after a run to the semi-finals in Guadalajara. This included an impressive comeback victory over Marta Kostyuk, though she would go on to lose to Peyton Stearns.
