Casper Ruud vs Juan Manuel Cerundolo prediction

Casper Ruud will be hoping for a positive end to the ATP Masters 1000 season with a strong showing in Paris this week.

Ruud’s form has been solid enough in recent weeks, and he will be fired up to get off to a winning start against Juan Manuel Cerundolo.

The Argentine had to come through two rounds of qualifying, beating Aleksandar Kovacevic and Miomir Kecmanovic in two hard-fought matches over the weekend.

Cerundolo has had little joy on hard courts in the second half of this year. A clay-court specialist, he tends to enjoy more success early in the year on his favoured surface.

Interestingly, Cerundolo has beaten Ruud twice before, both times on clay in Gstaad, but it was Ruud who won their only other meeting, at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Canada earlier this year, as the Norwegian triumphed 6-1, 6-2 on a hard court.

Ruud has a clear advantage on this surface, and we fully expect him to win comfortably against Cerundolo on Monday.
