Moyuka Uchijima vs Rebecca Sramkova prediction

Moyuka Uchijima could only manage one win from three matches on home soil, as she suffered early exits in Osaka and Tokyo. At the former event, Uchijima won her first-round match against Ena Shibahara before a defeat to Mary Stoiana in three sets. She then lost her opening match at the latter to Elise Mertens. Uchijima has won two titles on the ITF circuit, but she remains outside the world’s top 100.

Her first-round opponent is Rebecca Sramkova. The 30-year-old won a title in Suzhou last month, defeating Kyoka Okamura in the final. She backed that up with a run to the last eight in Wrexham. Sramkova has not enjoyed the strongest of campaigns, but she does have seven wins from her last eight matches overall.

These two played each other for the first time earlier this year in Doha, with Uchijima coming from a set down to win in qualifying. However, it’s difficult to look past Sramkova after her recent run of results.
