Jeline Vandromme will be making her tour-level main draw debut at the Chennai Open. She failed to qualify in Ningbo after retiring in the second set of her match against Alycia Parks. The Belgian was a set up against Carol Young Suh Lee in Guangzhou qualifying but ended up losing 5-7 7-6 (3) 6-3. She has won two lower-level titles in 2026. Vandromme was also a match away from her Grand Slam main draw debut at Wimbledon, though she lost to Mariam Bolkvadze in three sets. The teenager is up to 123 in the world rankings.

She faces Kyoka Okamura in the first-round of the Chennai Open. The 31-year-old was able to qualify for this tournament. She reached her first WTA 125 title last month in Suzhou, losing in straight sets to Rebecca Sramkova. The Japanese player then lost in Osaka qualifying to Maya Joint.

These two will both be desperate for a tour-level win, and I expect a tight match between the pair.
