Valentin Vacherot vs Jiri Lehecka prediction
Jiri Lehecka comes into Sunday’s final after a hard-fought victory over Jan-Lennard Struff. He had to dig deep after losing the first set 6-3, but responded in style, winning the second 7-5 and the third 6-4 to reach the final.
Lehecka blasted 22 aces, his all-round game was excellent, and his form in recent weeks continues to impress.
He takes on Valentin Vacherot, who stunned an in-form Taylor Fritz 7-6, 6-3. Vacherot enjoyed a good 2025, but 2026 has really been his breakout year, and this week he has been playing as well as ever.
He has picked up wins over Spanish prodigy Rafael Jodar, Denmark’s Holger Rune and now Fritz, and the calibre of opponent he has beaten far outweighs that of Lehecka’s.
The pair met in the Tokyo semi-finals just a few weeks ago, when Lehecka won 6-4, 6-2. Vacherot did, however, beat him 6-1, 6-3 in the first round in Paris last year, so they have one win apiece.
We have liked Lehecka all week, and his game in recent weeks has been really strong. That said, unless the occasion affects his performance, it is hard to look past Vacherot given how many quality players he has beaten.
We can see this one going all the way to a deciding set, with Vacherot favoured to come out on top.
