Sun Xinran vs Harriet Dart prediction

Sun Xinran maintained her impressive run at the Guangzhou Open after beating Claire Liu in straight sets to reach her first tour-level semi-final. The 16-year-old, who won the US Open junior title last month, saved six set points in the second set on her way to winning 7-5 7-6 (2) after two hours and one minute. She also advanced to the third-round of the China Open after wins over Eva Lys and Cristina Bucsa, losing to two-time Grand Slam champion Coco Gauff.

She faces Harriet Dart next. Dart advanced to her second ever WTA semi-final after coming from a set down to beat fifth seed Paula Badosa in the last eight. Badosa had not dropped a set throughout the event and went ahead after the first set. However, Dart would fight back to win 3-6 6-2 6-4 after two hours and 15 minutes.

Dart has enjoyed a strong couple of months, with 17 wins from 22 matches since Wimbledon. However, Sun is continuing to develop at a rapid rate.
