Adrian Mannarino vs Daniil Medvedev prediction

Adrian Mannarino defeated Jakub Mensik for the second time this season to book his place in the quarter-finals of the Vienna Open. Mannarino, who reached the semi-finals in Almaty last week, came from a set down to beat Mensik at Queen’s Club but recorded a more comfortable victory this time around, winning 6-4 7-5. 

He faces Daniil Medvedev for a place in the last four. Medvedev came back from the brink to beat Cameron Norrie and advance to his 100th career quarter-final. The Russian was 5-3 down in the final set and looked to be heading out but saved a match point and dominated the subsequent tiebreak to win 4-6 6-3 7-6 (1). Medvedev has now won 18 of his last 20 matches.

Medvedev leads the head-to-head 5-4 and has won five of their last six matches. Mannarino’s left-handed angles and compact groundstrokes could create problems for Medvedev, but I still expect him to have the edge in the decisive moments.
