Matteo Berrettini vs Alex de Minaur prediction

Matteo Berrettini reached the quarter-finals of the Vienna Open for the fifth time after Flavio Cobolli was forced to retire in the first set of their round-of-16 match. Berrettini was leading 5-2. This is now his joint best result of the campaign.

He will face Alex de Minaur next. The Australian produced an excellent performance to defeat Learner Tien in straight sets. De Minaur converted four out of seven break point opportunities on his way to winning 6-4 6-2. He also progressed to the final of the China Open earlier this month, though he did have to retire against Novak Djokovic in the second set.

The head-to-head is 3-3, with De Minaur leading 1-0 indoors. They met at this very stage of the event last year, with the 27-year-old winning 6-1 7-6. De Minaur has regained his consistency since the US Open, and he will be viewed as the firm favourite to come out on top.
