Taylor Fritz vs Arthur Fils prediction
After overcoming Rinky Hijikata in straight sets in his first-round match on Wednesday, Taylor Fritz produced a similarly accomplished display to beat Denis Shapovalov 6-4, 6-3.
Fritz is fresh off a run to the final in Lyon, where he lost to Lorenzo Musetti, and there are zero signs of fatigue in the 29-year-old American, who looks set to enjoy another good week.
He will be fired up to go far, but he has talented French 22-year-old Arthur Fils standing between him and a semi-final spot.
Fils has had two challenging matches of his own so far, and he had to grind his way through three sets and a final-set tie-break to beat Alex Michelsen on Thursday. That could well stand him in good stead against Fritz in what is sure to be a close, hard-fought match.
