Middlesbrough vs Charlton Athletic prediction

While the Championship is notorious for throwing up shock results when least expected, it would take something special for Charlton Athletic to get anything away at Middlesbrough. The scorching hot Boro sit top of the Championship, with seven wins, four draws and just one defeat from their 12 league fixtures so far. They have taken ten points from the last 12 available to them, and a 1-5 win over Bolton last time out showed how ruthless they can be.

Charlton, in contrast, are sliding alarmingly towards the bottom three and are without a win in their last nine matches. Defensively, the Addicks have been desperately poor, giving up eleven goals in their most recent five. When considering the quality of this Middlesbrough squad and the multitude of options at the disposal of head coach Kim Hellberg, there is no excuse for Middlesbrough not to be beating Charlton comfortably.

Middlesbrough vs Charlton Athletic tip: Middlesbrough to win with -1 handicap
