Burnley vs Portsmouth prediction

Burnley will desperately be hoping for the notorious new manager bounce after sacking Nicky Hayen earlier in the week. Fabio Celestini was appointed quickly and, whilst he’s had little time on the training pitch, he will have hoped to have gotten his message across to the players. They are clearly far more talented than their league position suggests, and the Clarets need to start showing it quickly, beginning here against Portsmouth.

Pompey are in excellent form, picking up ten points from their last four Championship fixtures, but you could argue they have run into Burnley at the wrong time. The hosts are bound to turn a corner eventually, even if it does turn out to be a brief bounce. With the crowd fired up and a new head coach in the technical area, backing Burnley to get something out of this game via the safety of the double chance market warrants serious consideration.

Burnley vs Portsmouth tip: Double chance - Burnley/draw
