Xinyu Wang dropped just two games as she swept into the round of 16.

The Chinese star roared to a 6-1 6-1 win over Hong Kong native Adithya Karunaratne and will now face Antonia Ruzic.

The Croatian claimed a 7-6 6-4 success over Alina Charaeva after rekindling some much-needed form with a run to the last eight in Osaka recently.

Sixth seed, Wang had lost four in a row prior to her win here and it remains to be seen whether that will give her the energy to kick-on in the tournament or if the tank is pretty much empty for 2026.

The Chinese star remains the clear favourite given the rankings, but Ruzic is very capable of making this difficult.
