Thiago Tirante vs Jan-Lennard Struff prediction
Thiago Tirante has been handed a golden opportunity after Flavio Cobolli withdrew from the Rolex Paris Masters. Having been eliminated in qualifying by Mattia Bellucci on Sunday, Tirante now gets his chance against Jan-Lennard Struff.
The 25-year-old Argentine is enjoying a breakout year, and as we saw with Nuno Borges when he was handed a lucky loser spot, Tirante can play with complete freedom, having nothing to lose.
Struff has been playing some good tennis in recent weeks and comes into this off a 7-6, 6-3 win over Arthur Gea. The 36-year-old German is ending the season in style, having registered a win over Novak Djokovic in Basel last week, and he will be keen to follow that up by progressing further in this tournament.
The pair met just five weeks ago in Beijing, when Struff won 6-1, 6-4. His form since then has been excellent, and he is playing at a good level.
Even if Tirante comes out firing on all cylinders, we expect Struff to have enough to get the win.
