Georgian forward Giorgi Gagua scored the only goal of the game for Dunajska Streda with a 59th minute penalty to give the Slovakians a slender 1-0 lead against Velez Mostar in the first-leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round tie.
Velez have won just one tie, their first qualifying round outfit against Milsami Orhei since the summer of 2021 when they famously defeated AEK Athens, while DAC haven’t won a European tie since the summer of 2022 against Vikingur Gota.
