Union SG vs Bodo/Glimt prediction

Having won the Belgian title for the first time in about 100 years in the 2024-25 campaign, Union SG finished at the top-of-the-table once again last year, despite the surprise departure of manager Sebastian Pocognoli to Monaco mid-way through the season, before being pipped to the title by Club Brugge in the championship round. David Hubert is now in charge of Union SG.

Surprisingly, Bodo/Glimt had finished second in the Eliteserien in 2025. They then earned victories over Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in the league phase before a victory over Internazionale in their knockout play-off round tie. Sporting CP eventually knocked Bodo out, despite Bodo winning their first-leg by three goals to nil in the Arctic Circle. Kjetil Knutsen remains in charge but they have since sold Kasper Hogh to Celtic.

Bodo/Glimt will believe they can continue to strike well on the counter-attack but Union SG will fall back on home advantage to ensure both teams scoring seems a decent bet for this first-leg in Belgium.
