Sparta Prague finished as runners-up in the Czech First League last season, with capital city rivals Slavia Prague once again winning the title with relative ease. Sparta reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season before eventually losing to Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
The departure of John Textor has allowed Olympique Lyonnais to streamline themselves and majorly improve as they return to the UEFA Champions League, under the management of Paulo Fonseca. They have made some intriguing signings, perhaps headlined by Belgium international striker Lois Openda on loan from Juventus.
Lyon have not been in the UEFA Champions League since the 2019-20 campaign. They should come out on top in this tie but both teams scoring would appear a decent bet for this first-leg in Czechia.
