Real Sociedad vs Rayo Vallecano prediction

Real Sociedad come into this one on the back of a frustrating 2-1 loss to Athletic Club in the Basque derby at San Mames in Bilbao last weekend. La Real had been in excellent form prior to that loss to their arch-rivals. They have since shared a 1-1 draw with Olympique Lyonnais in the UEFA Europa League in midweek.

Rayo Vallecano, amid off-field issues and the departure of Inigo Perez to Villarreal over the summer, have maintained admirable form on the pitch now under the management of Benat San Jose. Rayo hammered Celta Vigo by three goals to nil at Vallecas last week with Jorge de Frutos the star of the show.

Rayo will take that enterprise and confidence to San Sebastian this weekend, too, but La Real have to be favoured to get back on the winning track in Northern Spain.
