RAYO VALLECANO PREVIEW: ADDITIONAL HEADING HERE

Last weekend, Rayo Vallecano were due to play at El Madrigal against Villarreal but the Madrid-based club had that game postponed due to the horrific flooding that has taken place across Spain but primarily in the region of Valencia.

Inigo Perez’ Rayo begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top-half of the table and just a couple of points outside of the European spots with a game-in-hand. The hosts have been able to redevelop and reignite their intense style of football that made them fun to watch when Andoni Iraola was at the helm. Their 5-0 Copa del Rey win against Villamuriel a week and a half ago means they have suffered just one defeat in their last eight matches across all competitions since returning from the September international break.

LAS PALMAS PREVIEW: ADDITIONAL HEADING HERE

Over the summer, Las Palmas lost manager Garcia Pimienta to Sevilla but replaced him with Luis Carrion. However, after a long winless run to begin the campaign, he was eventually sacked and replaced by former Granada boss Diego Martinez.

The Canary Islanders won three matches in La Liga and the Copa del Rey to begin the Diego Martinez reign but their most recent outing saw them suffer a 2-0 defeat to an improved Atletico Madrid side at the Metropolitano in the capital city last weekend thanks to goals from Giuliano Simeone and Alexander Sorloth.

RAYO VALLECANO TEAM NEWS: COUPLE OF SUSPENSIONS

Rayo Vallecano are dealing with a couple of suspensions ahead of this clash with Las Palmas as Abdul Mumin is sidelined alongside midfielder Unai Lopez.

As well as those two being unavailable and absent this weekend for Rayo, left-back Alfonso Espino has a broken foot, whilst Diego Mendez has an ACL injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Alex Batalla; Ratiu, Lejeune, Aridane Hernandez, Pep Chavarria; Jorge de Frutos, Oscar Valentin, Ciss, Alvaro Garcia; Isi Palazon, Sergio Camello

UNAVAILABLE: Mumin (Suspended), Alfonso Espino (Injured), Unai Lopez (Suspended), Diego Mendez (Injured)

LAS PALMAS TEAM NEWS: A FEW INJURIES

Las Palmas have had a long injury list throughout the campaign but several have returned. Adnan Januzaj was one of those but he has now suffered a hamstring injury.

As well as Januzaj, both Jasper Cillessen and midfielder Enzo Loiodice are sidelined for the Canary Islanders with Marvin Park also an injury doubt.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Horkas; Viti, Alex Suarez, McKenna, Alex Munoz; Kirian Rodriguez, Dario Essugo, Jose Campana; Sandro Ramirez, Silva, Alberto Moleiro

UNAVAILABLE: Cillessen (Injured), Loiodice (Injured), Januzaj (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Park (Injured)

RAYO VALLECANO VS LAS PALMAS PREDICTION

Rayo Vallecano have a very entertaining style of football that is intense to watch and to play. They also, deceptively, have a good amount of depth, too, with the likes of Oscar Trejo and James Rodriguez on the bench. Las Palmas have always and will always play proactive football but that proactivity may become a bit more effective with Diego Martinez at the helm, too, so both teams scoring seems a good bet for this one at Vallecas.
