Lazio Preview: Difficult couple of months

Lazio begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting a couple of points and places outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League qualification spots due to a terrible performance and result in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago before the March international break.

Up against fellow top four challengers Bologna, Bologna defeated Lazio by five goals to nil at the Renato Dall’Aradue to a goal from Jens Odgaard in the first-half and then second-half strikes from Riccardo Orsolini, Dan Ndoye, Santiago Castro and Giovanni Fabbian.

Torino Preview: Mid-table Torino

Torino have been a little underwhelming throughout the campaign as they begin the match day sitting in the bottom-half of the table ahead of the 30th match day. However, the Turin-based outfit have been much-improved of late with three victories and a draw in their last four games.

Torino enjoyed back-to-back victories against AC Milan and Monza before a draw with Parma and they then headed into the break on the back of a 1-0 defeat of Empoli at Stadio Grande Torino in Piedmont thanks to a 70th minute strike via Croatia international Nikola Vlasic.

Lazio Team News: Matias Vecino suspended

Uruguay international defensive midfielder Matias Vecino is missing through suspension for this weekend and the hosts are also dealing with a few injury issues, too, such as Patric, Luca Pellegrini and key striker Valentin Castellanos.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Rovella; Isaksen, Pedro, Zaccagni; Dia

Unavailable: Patric (Injured), Pellegrini (Injured), Matias Vecino (Suspended), Valentin Castellanos (Injured)

Questionable: Tavares (Injured), Ibrahimovic (Injured), Dele-Bashiru (Injured)

Torino Team News: Couple of doubts

As Torino make the trip down to the capital city, they have some key doubts such as Poland international defender Sebastian Walukiewicz and Switzerland international wing-back Valentino Lazaro, whilst Duvan Zapata and Perr Schuurs remain sidelined through injury.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Milinkovic-Savic; Pedersen, Guillermo Maripan, Saul Coco, Biraghi; Casadei, Ricci, Gineitis; Vlasic, Adams, Elmas

Unavailable: Schuurs (Injured), Njie (Injured), Duvan Zapata (Injured)

Questionable: Walukiewicz (Injured), Lazaro (Injured)

Lazio vs Torino Prediction

Lazio have been generally impressive under the management of former Hellas Verona boss Marco Baroni but the hosts have hit a rocky and rough patch of form. Their 5-0 loss to Bologna a couple of weeks ago means they have managed just two victories in their last eight matches across all competitions. They take on a Torino side that are in much-improved form and so will be buoyant as they go to the Stadio Olimpico. As a result, both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one in Rome.
