Dan Ige: Hawaiian star looking to go back-to-back
Dan Ige (19-9) is coming into this fight off a confidence-boosting victory over Sean Woodson who he TKO’d at UFC 314 just over three months ago in Miami. That win came after successive decision losses to Diego Lopes and Lerone Murphy and that victory was just what the Hawaiian star needed to star relevant in the featherweight division.
Patrício Pitbull: Brazilian star targeting first win in Octagon
Patrício Pitbull (36-8) lost a unanimous decision on his long-awaited UFC debut as he was beaten by Yair Rodriguez. The UFC wasted no time in giving an incredibly difficult test but as is so often the case with experienced newcomers to the UFC, whether the nerves crept in or the reality of the level, Pitbull struggled to hit the ground running against a quality opponent. He returns to the Octagon with that experience under his belt and he will hope to showcase what he can do.
Dan Ige vs Patrício Pitbull prediction
Patricio Pitbull had a tough welcome to the UFC against Yair Rodriguez and it does not get much easier in his second fight as he takes on the ever-dangerous Dan Ige.
Ige is as game as they come and is equally as tough having never been stopped in 28 professional MMA bouts. He will be confident after the win over Sean Woodson and now he will relish the opportunity to dent Pitbull’s aspirations.
Pitbull is going to have to step it up a level if he is to get a win here but the reality is that even before he came to the UFC, his form has not been great and he has lost three of his last four overall.
We find it hard to make a case for him against many in the top ten of the featherweight division and we expect Ige to compound his difficult start and inflict another loss in what should be a highly entertaining fight.
Prediction: Dan Ige to win
