The Colorado Rapids have returned from MLS’ break to FIFA World Cup 2026 with a 1-0 victory over San Diego before they succumbed to a loss to St Louis City by the same scoreline last week, going down to ten men after 12 minutes due to a Rob Holding red card.
Austin were unconvincing in their return to action, eventually beating ten-man the Seattle Sounders by three goals to one before they were then hammered 3-0 by Houston Dynamo in a Texan derby at the weekend.
Austin and the Rapids have combined for just 48 goals so far this season and a low-scoring encounter is highly likely at the DSG Park in Commerce City.
