Amanda Lemos: Vet coming off submission loss to Jandiroba
Amanda Lemos (14-4-1) is coming off the fourth defeat of her professional MMA career as she was submitted by Virna Jandiroba last July. That came after a Fight of the Night performance at UFC 298 against Mackenzie Dern. Given that her previous fight was for the strawweight championship against Zhang Weili, Lemos will be well aware that she cannot a afford to lose here if she is to remain in contention for a title shot anytime soon.
Iasmin Lucindo: Surging Brazilian looking to win fifth consecutive fight
Iasmin Lucindo (17-5) is on a four-fight win streak and that is all the more remarkable after she had lost on her UFC debut in August 2022 against Yazmin Jauregui. Since that defeat, she has gotten back to winning ways and shown that she is more than capable of operating at the highest level in the UFC. The 23-year-old has managed eight victories by knockout however none of those have come in the UFC.
Amanda Lemos vs Iasmin Lucindo Prediction
This fight in the women's strawweight division is an absolute beauty and the UFC matchmakers have pulled together a fantastic fight for this main card at UFC 313.
On one hand, we have the experienced Amanda Lemos who is coming into this belt having fought some really tough opponents in the last few years.
In the other corner, we have an up-and-coming fighter who has already had 22 fights at the age of 23. Naturally, the vast majority of those fights took place outside of the UFC against lesser quality opponents. That should take nothing away however from the fact that Iasmin Lucindo has an unbelievable future ahead of her and is incredibly talented.
Much depends in this fight as to whether Amanda Lemos has enough gas in the tank. This is a really tough test for her against a much younger opponent but she still has the motivation, she has the skill set to keep Lucindo at bay.
We marginally prefer the older fighter in this one, however, our preferred play in this one is to back this fight going the distance. There is plenty of pride on the line between the two Brazilians, and we see this going to the judges’ scorecards.
Prediction: Fight to go the distance
