Mairon Santos: The Legend looking to follow up UFC debut KO win
Mairon Santos (14-1) impressed on his UFC debut last time out as he knocked out Kaan Ofli back in August to make something of a statement. He will now look to follow that up at UFC 313 and extend his impressive record. The 24-year-old has eight knockout wins and six by decision, and he will be eyeing another stoppage here.
Francis Marshall: Contender grad aiming to break .500
Francis Marshall (8-2) got back to winning ways last time out after successive losses as he grabbed a split decision win over Dennis Buzukja in August. That takes his record in the UFC to 2-2 since he got his chance after winning in Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2022. The win last time out was huge after he has suffered the first knockout loss of his career and now he will look to earn back-to-back wins in the UFC for the first time.
Mairon Santos vs Francis Marshall Prediction
This is a really interesting bout between two up and coming fighters as Mairon Santos takes on Francis Marshall in the UFC’s featherweight division.
Santos has the more impressive record of the two but as is so often the case, that has been built up outside the promotion.
The Brazilian did however make quite the statement on debut and that knock out of Kaan Ofli was particularly impressive.
Marshall also won last time out but it was a narrow split decision win and that came off two consecutive losses.
It is the Brazilian who is preferred here given how good he looked on debut but also due to the vulnerability that Marshall has shown in recent fights. We are not sure if he gets the stoppage but we like Santos to win here.
Prediction: Mairon Santos to win by KO/TKO or decision
