Xiao Long: 35-fight veteran looking for first win in UFC

He may only be 26-year-old, but Xiao Long (26-9) has had more fights than years and the 35-fight veteran is looking for his first win in the UFC. He won through the Road to the UFC and got his chance at UFC on ABC 6 in June but lost a split decision at the hands of Chang Ho Lee. That loss came after four consecutive wins and he will now be hoping to get a win in the promotion and kick off his UFC career.

Quang Le: Bang aims to bounce back from first pro MMA loss

33-year-old Quang ‘Bang’ Le is coming off the first loss in his relatively short professional MMA career after losing to Chris Gutierrez at UFC on ESPN 61 in August. That was his third fight of 2024 and he will be eager to get his first win in the Octagon in what is his fourth fight of 2024. His eight MMA wins have all come in just over three years and his well-rounded skill set attracted the UFC matchmakers to him. Now, he will be seeking to show why they gave him a deal with a win here.

Xiao Long vs Quang Le Prediction

This is an interesting bout between Xiao Long and Quang Le. The bantamweights have had very different career paths but meet in what could very well define their futures in the UFC.

Quang Lee has been on a tear in the last three years to earn this shot but all eight wins have come outside of the organisation and the quality of opponent always has to be questioned.

The same can be said for Xiao Long who has had a staggering 35 fights by the age of 26 but again, the calibre of opponent on his resume is not great.

That makes this fight very hard to call. Xiao Long is not exactly known for his power and with this being a really crunch fight for both, we can see caution perhaps taking over here. We like this fight going to the scorecards and while we have a marginal preference for Quang Le due to his more explosive approach, our play is on this going to the judges.

Prediction: Fight to go the distance
