Maheshate Hayisaer: 24-year-old looking to build on Benitez win
Maheshate Hayisaer (10-3) picked up a much-needed win last time out as he earned a split decision win over Gabriel Benitez in April. That came after back-to-back losses in the Octagon to Rafa Garcia and Viacheslav Borshchev – the latter of which was the first knockout loss of his career – but he bounced back well. The 24-year-old has been handed some tough matches since entering the UFC and it will be interesting to see how he gets on here against Motta.
Nikolas Motta: Brazilian coming off 10th KO win
Nikolas Motta (14-5 with one no contest) returns to action in the Octagon for his first fight since January. At UFC Fight Night 234, Motta picked up a TKO victory over Tom Nolan and that was his tenth knockout in his professional MMA career. His previous fight was a controversial no-contest as the referee called a halt to proceedings too early as Trey Ogden had a choke locked in on Motta. That could easily have been a loss for Motta so his record in the UFC stands at 2-2 with one no contest rather than 2-3.
Maheshate Hayisaer vs Nikolas Motta Prediction
Both of these fighters have had a similar length of time in the UFC and possess similar records in the organisation. However, it is Maheshate who has fought the higher calibre opposition and looks the better fighter.
The 24-year-old Chinese lightweight has had some tough tests in his relatively short time in the organisation and he has done fairly well. He will relish this opportunity with plenty of support on his side in Macau to pick up a second successive win.
We think there is plenty more to come from Maheshate and he can follow up on his win over Benitez with another victory here.
Prediction: Maheshate Hayisaer to win
