Korea Republic manager Hong Myung-bo has announced his 23-man squad for FIFA World Cup 2026.

Sharjah defender Cho Yu-min has since been replaced by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors defender Cho Wi-je due to injury.

Korea Republic head to North America with their star man and captain plying his trade in the United States with LAFC attacker Son Heung-min remaining the star attraction for Hong Myung-bo’s side.

Son is not the only star in the final third, though, with Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Lee Kang-in set to provide some much-needed support to what is a generally limited side.

Aside from those two real stars, Korea will be looking to Mainz’ Lee Jae-sung and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ versatile attacker Hwang Hee-chan, with Bae Jun-ho and Eom Ji-sung, both playing in the Championship for Stoke City and Swansea City, providing further depth.

There isn’t too much quality at the back, though, beyond Bayern Munich centre-back Kim Min-jae and Borussia Monchengladbach’s German-born wing-back Jens Castrop.

Yang Min-hyeok, who broke through last season and signed for Tottenham Hotspur last summer, has endured a tough campaign, despite being on loan at Coventry City as they won the English second-tier, and he has missed out on the squad alongside Gent’s Hong Hyun-seok.
