Petra Kvitova vs Sofia Kenin Prediction
The only previous clash between Petra Kvitova and Sofia Kenin on the hard court came here in Miami, all the way back in 2018 when Kvitova was seeded ninth in the tournament and USA’s Kenin was just a qualifier. The latter took the first set before Kvitova roared back to win it. Since then, Kenin has won a Grand Slam on hard court and recorded her first win over the Czechia star at the French Open in 2020.
Fast forward to 2025 and Kvitova at 35 years of age is starting to reach the latter stages of her career. She enters Miami as a wildcard, whilst Kenin is currently ranked outside of the top 50 after a second round exit at Indian Wells. She did, however, make the quarter-finals in Dubai only last month, so she is by no means totally out of form.
With Kvitova, there is always a question mark over her body and whether it will hold up over the course of a gruelling encounter and the longer this match goes on, the more it is likely to favour Kenin. With that in mind, a sensible play may be to back Kenin to win it in three.
