New York City come into this one on the back of an impressive performance to defeat Columbus Crew away from home by two goals to one. That leaves NYCFC sitting comfortably tucked inside the top seven and the play-off places in the Eastern Conference.
Robert Lewandowski made his debut for Chicago Fire in midweek but the Poland captain failed to get on the scoresheet as the Fire fell to a 3-2 loss at the Nu Stadium against a Lionel Messi-less Inter Miami, despite Miami goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo giving the Fire an early lead via a terrible mistake.
Chicago Fire appear to be moving away from the strategy that has them sitting third in the Eastern Conference and New York will fancy themselves here, especially with home advantage.
