Ignacio Buse vs Daniil Medvedev prediction

Ignacio Buse was in fine form in the first round on Monday as he comfortably dispatched Zizou Bergs 6-2, 6-4. He generated an impressive 10 break points, converting four of them, and was pretty strong on his own serve as he ran out a comfortable winner.

That win will have given him good confidence, especially given that Bergs had beaten him 6-0, 6-3 at the Shanghai Masters just a couple of weeks ago.

Buse now faces a tough test in the shape of Daniil Medvedev, a player he has yet to face on the ATP Tour.

Medvedev continues to be wildly inconsistent, but he reached the semi-finals at the Shanghai Masters a couple of weeks ago and the semi-finals in Vienna, where he lost narrowly to Carlos Alcaraz. He also picked up an ATP 250 title in Almaty between Shanghai and Vienna, and is arguably playing as well as he has all year as he comes into the final Masters 1000 event of the season.

His record in Paris has been decent over the years, having won the title in 2020, finished runner-up in 2021 and reached the quarter-finals last year. He will fancy his chances of going deep once again, and we can see him doing so. He should have too much all round for Buse, and we expect the fourth seed to come through relatively unscathed.
