The first-leg of this UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie, Vikingur Reykjavik defeated Hapoel Be’er Sheva by two goals to one at Vikingsvollur in Iceland. Kinga Kangwa scored for the Israelis either side of a brace of goals scored by Danish attacker Nikolaj Hansen.
Hapoel Be’er Sheva lost the Israeli Super Cup to start off their 2026-27 campaign and their underwhelming start has now left them under pressure for this second-leg in Central Europe. Vikingur are reliant on home advantage, though, and so this is a tough test.
Vikingur perhaps needed more of a one-goal advantage ahead of this second-leg and Hapoel Be’er Sheva have to be viewed as favourites, even without home advantage.
