Third choice behind the two excellent goalkeeping options of Alisson and Ederson, Weverton has again been trusted in the Brazil squad ahead of the likes of Bento and Hugo Souza. The 38-year-old shot stopper, who joined Gremio for this season after an eight-year stint at Palmeiras, is a part of his second FIFA World Cup squad, having been the third-choice for the Brazilians in Qatar in 2022, coming off the bench to feature in that tournament when Alisson went down injured late on against Korea Republic in the round of 16.
