One of the surprising recalls in recent months by Didier Deschamps is that of defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante. The two-time Premier League winner with Leicester City and Chelsea, Kante moved to Al Ittihad in 2023 before departing the Saudi Pro League in January 2026 and joining Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce. The 35-year-old is one of the most experienced heads in a star-studded France squad and he may well have a good chance of starting in an area of the pitch that might be France’s weakest spot.
