31-year-old defensive midfielder Leandro Paredes, who turns 32 mid-way through this tournament, moved back to his boyhood club Boca Juniors last summer after a decade in Europe. Paredes is one of several workhorses in the middle of the park for the Argentinians. Tenacious in the tackle and always industrious, Paredes’ ability on the ball perhaps undermined his time at the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus but he is ideal for shuttling the ball forward to Argentina’s array of attackers.
