Having joined Benfica in the summer of 2022, Enzo Fernandez became one of the key players in Argentina’s FIFA World Cup 2022-winning squad in Qatar. A month later, he then joined Chelsea for, reportedly, over £100 million and that price tag has dogged him a bit as a simple box-to-box midfielder. In his role, though, he has grown into becoming a stellar talent for an underperforming Chelsea side that did win last summer’s FIFA Club World Cup with Fernandez playing a key role once again in that triumph on the global stage in the United States.
