At FIFA World Cup 2022, Lautaro Martinez came close to taking on the role of Gonzalo Higuain of being the man to miss a litany of chances in a FIFA World Cup final that cost Argentina triumph but those big occasions are rare, albeit something the Internazionale striker does still struggle with. In the rough and tumble of regular league football, though, the 28-year-old striker, with an excellent scoring rate for his country, has remained one of the most impressive and lethal attackers in European football.
