Alongside Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Juan Musso, Geronimo Rulli will act as an understudy at FIFA World Cup 2026 to Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez. Once of Manchester City, Rulli has spent a lot of his career as a back-up goalkeeper at the likes of Real Sociedad and then at Villarreal in La Liga before an impressive stint at Ajax that saw him move to Olympique de Marseille in the summer of 2024, and he has since established himself as l’OM’s ‘number one’ at Stade Velodrome.
