The 28-year-old striker forced his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s squad through weight of goals, scoring 18 times last season in all competitions for English Championship winners Coventry City. Wright boasts a proven eye for goal and found the net three times in his five appearances for USA in 2025. Josh Sargent’s lack of gametime due to injury is what likely led to Wright getting the call and whilst it’s unlikely the Sky Blues forward will start at FIFA World Cup 2026, Wright offers a serious attacking threat off the bench with pace and power in abundance.
