The first-leg of this UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie saw the two sides sharing a thrilling 3-3 draw. Egnatia went ahead before Celje came from behind to go 2-1 up. Egnatia then equalised before Celje re-established the lead before Egnatia again got themselves back on level terms at the Demrozi Stadium in Rrogozhine.
Despite the departure of Albert Riera to Eintracht Frankfurt in January, Celje still managed to win the Slovenian top-flight last season, while also backing up their 2024-25 UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final appearance by reaching the round of 16 in the 2025-26 campaign.
Egnatia have been entertaining to watch in Europe this season and they may throw a few punches here but Celje remain firm favourites to get themselves through.
