Belgium vs Ukraine Prediction

The first-leg of this UEFA Nations League Leagues A/B promotion/relegation playoff saw Rudi Garcia’s first game in charge of Belgium end badly after the Red Devils had taken a first-half lead via Romelu Lukaku but eventually went down by three goals to one against the Ukrainians.

Ukraine’s second-half display was extremely impressive with Oleksiy Gutsulyak getting them back on level terms before strikes from Vladyslav Vanat and AFC Bournemouth defender Illya Zabarnyi. They managed to earn themselves a draw against Belgium in the group stages of UEFA EURO 2024 and are proving themselves to be difficult to defeat.

Belgium have endured a difficult 12-18 months with Tedesco sacked amid several arguments he had, which led to the self-exile of Thibaut Courtois who has now returned, as well as lots of reports of in-fighting within the squad. They will need to still lean on whatever quality is left in the likes of the aforementioned Courtois and Lukaku as well as Kevin De Bruyne.

Belgium showed themselves to be the better side for an hour against Ukraine and so, with home advantage for this one, will fancy their chances of avoiding a defeat in the second-leg.

Belgium vs Ukraine Tip: Double chance – Belgium to win or draw
