Uruguay vs Peru prediction
Uruguay require just a single point from their final two qualifiers in order to secure automatic passage to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and they will fancy their chance of getting the job done with a game to spare given that they host a Peru side who have picked up just two points away from home in the current CONMEBOL campaign.
Peru actually defeated Uruguay 1-0 in the reverse fixture in Lima back in October last year, one of only two victories in qualifying, but a repeat is highly unlikely in Montevideo.
The visitors still have a mathematical chance of finishing in the inter-confederation play-off spot, but that would require an extremely unlikely set of circumstances that would see them winning both games and other results also going their way.
Peru have scored a paltry six goals in their 16 qualifiers so far, and none away from home, so a win to nil for the hosts has a strong chance of landing when it comes to the betting markets.
