Melbourne City vs Sydney FC prediction

Sydney FC made a solid start to the season with a goalless draw against Western Sydney Wanderers, then followed it up with a 2-1 victory over Adelaide United. Most impressive was how they responded to going behind, producing an outstanding second-half comeback to win.

It has not been as positive a start for Melbourne City, who were outclassed by Auckland in a 3-1 defeat in their opening match. They improved second time up with a 1-1 draw in the Melbourne Derby, but such a hotly contested affair will no doubt have taken a lot out of the players.

This is likely to be a tough assignment for Aurelio Vidmar’s side against a Sydney FC team looking strong at the back. The visitors are playing with confidence, will be very difficult to break down, and should prove a significant threat on the counter-attack. When you consider how tough Sydney have been to beat so far this season, it’s worth utilizing the double chance market and backing them to pick up at least a point, if not all three.

Melbourne City vs Sydney FC tip: Double chance - draw/Sydney FC
