Key Stats

  • Uganda have kept nine clean sheets in their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches in Uganda.
  • Uganda have won 17 and drawn three of their previous 21 matches against Somalia (L1).
  • Somalia have won only one of their previous 20 World Cup qualifying matches (D4 L15). Their only victory was a 1-0 win against Zimbabwe in September 2019.

Uganda vs Somalia Prediction

Uganda come into this one on the back of an evenly matched contest against Mozambique, in which things were level at half-time before the east Africans then hammered Mozambique by four goals to nil. They begin the eighth match day sitting second and above Mozambique on goal difference.

In what is generally a competitive and even group, the Somalians have been the weakest of the lot with the minnows having collected just a solitary point from their opening seven qualifiers. They most recently suffered a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Guinea at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda.

With home advantage and the confidence of their excellent victory the other day, the Ugandans would have to be viewed as the firm favourites to win this one.
