Everton vs Newcastle prediction

David Moyes’ Everton come into this one on the back of back-to-back 2-0 defeats against Chelsea and then Arsenal in the Premier League after a seven-match unbeaten start to the campaign across all competitions. The Toffees, perhaps as ever, have a fairly unhappy fanbase and a cup run could be crucial for Moyes on Merseyside.

Newcastle United eased to a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park at the weekend and that was much-needed for The Magpies. Matthias Jaissle had started well at Newcastle but performances and results fell off before that crucial victory in South London.

Newcastle will take confidence from that one and get themselves on the front foot again here but Everton also could do with taking the game to their opponents and so both teams scoring may well be a decent bet for this one in Liverpool.

Everton vs Newcastle tip: Both teams to score
