Davey Grant: Battle-hardened brawler with underrated craft
Davey Grant (14-7) has carved out a gritty, respected UFC career built on durability, cardio, and underrated striking. The 39-year-old Englishman made his name on The Ultimate Fighter, losing in the finale but bouncing back with a debut win over Marlon "Chito" Vera – a result that’s aged extremely well. He’s gone on to add highlight finishes like his KO of Jonathan Martinez, and while his UFC run has been up and down, many of his losses have been razor-close decisions. Grant has never been knocked out, and his recent win over Ramon Taveras in December 2024 showed he’s still got something left in the tank. He sets a fast tempo and brings toughness and experience in equal measure.

Da’Mon Blackshear: Grappling threat with sneaky hands
Da’Mon Blackshear (17-7-1) is a dangerous grappler with slick transitions, elite back control, and an impressive finishing record with 65% of his wins coming by submission. The 30-year-old has faced strong opposition, including decision losses to Mario Bautista and Javid Basharat, and a draw with Youssef Zalal. Since a KO loss to Montel Jackson, he’s rebounded with three solid wins, including two submissions. He also made history by landing only the third twister submission in UFC history. Blackshear has solid boxing for a grappler but has shown signs of fading on the feet in longer fights.

Davey Grant vs Da’Mon Blackshear prediction
This should be a competitive and closely contested fight. Blackshear is the younger, fresher fighter and has the grappling edge, while Grant holds the experience, durability, and a higher level of past competition. Expect Blackshear to chase takedowns and hunt positions early, while Grant looks to stuff attempts and pressure with pace and volume.

A finish seems unlikely as both men are tough and capable defensively. Expect a back-and-forth, scrappy affair that goes the distance.

Prediction: Fight to go the distance
