Sturm Graz relinquished the Austrian Bundesliga title last season, returning to being runners-up in behind Red Bull Salzburg. Sturm were in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League a couple of years ago and their European pedigree has grown significantly in recent times.

Hearts have dealt with some big departures this summer such as manager Derek McInness and captain Lawrence Shankland to Rangers.
