Strasbourg preview: Back on track
After the departure of Gary O’Neil to Ipswich Town, Strasbourg brought in Portuguese coach Hugo Oliveira after he had done a good job with Famalicao but he got off to a poor start with a 4-0 loss away at Olympique de Marseille.
They were unfortunate with the scoreline in that game and have since gone on to defeat last year’s runners-up Lens before a 6-2 demolition of previously impressive newly-promoted Troyes last weekend.
Monaco preview: Impressive start
Monaco opted not to give Sebastian Pocognoli a pre-season in charge of Monaco and instead appointed former Flamengo boss Filipe Luis, who had done an extremely impressive job with the Brazilian giants.
He has now started extremely well in charge of Monaco with three wins from three thus far, including a come from behind defeat of defending champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the capital city last weekend.
Strasbourg team news: Nothing fresh
There are no fresh injury issues for Strasbourg to deal with as last season’s top scorer Joaquin Panichelli remains sidelined alongside former Fulham winger Martial Godo.

Strasbourg vs Monaco prediction
As well as that aforementioned defeat of PSG, the Monegasque also eased past Marseille by two goals to nil with an impressive counter-attacking performance at Stade Louis II. That efficiency and effectiveness on the counter-attack may well again serve them well here in the Alsace region with Oliveira aiming to get Strasbourg perpetually on the front foot and so siding with the visitors seems a good bet as they make a good start against tough sides.
