Southampton preview: Saints’ dreadful season
In their 37 matches so far this season, Southampton have managed just two victories and they have collected just 12 points, albeit that is one more than the record lowest points tally in Premier League history, set by Derby County in the 2007/08 campaign.
Saints come into this one on the back of losing the last ever men’s game at Goodison Park against Everton last weekend due to a first-half brace scored by Senegal international attacker Iliman Ndiaye.
Arsenal preview: Gunners gunning for more next year
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have once again gone trophyless this season and that is likely to have to change next season with the Gunners embarking upon a big summer transfer window following a third successive second place finish in the Premier League.
They earned themselves what was actually a much-needed win in the league last weekend as they defeated Newcastle United by a goal to nil at the Emirates Stadium last week thanks to a second-half goal scored by England international midfielder Declan Rice.

Southampton vs Arsenal prediction
Southampton have been a lot steadier and much more risk averse under the interim management of former Stockport County boss Simon Rusk, who is in his second stint in charge this season after the sackings of Russell Martin and Ivan Juric. Arsenal head down to the south coast with next season in mind but they will still want to finish with a flourish and a comfortable Gunners victory is to be expected at St Mary’s.
Southampton vs Arsenal tip: Arsenal to win -1 handicap
