Genoa preview: Big win at the weekend

Genoa come into this one on the back of a much-needed but slender 1-0 defeat of rock-bottom Venezia at Stadio Luigi Ferraris at the weekend, courtesy of a second half winner scored by Mikael Ellertsson.

The Genovese have stuck by Roma legend Daniele De Rossi, despite a slow start to this season, after he led Genoa to survival last season after he replaced Patrick Vieira in November.

Juventus preview: Under pressure Spalletti

Juventus begin this midweek round of fixtures sitting outside of the top six and the European spots as the Bianconeri continue to falter across all competitions and the pressure is beginning to grow on Luciano Spalletti.

However, The Old Lady did manage to get themselves a comfortable victory at the weekend as they defeated Lecce by two goals to nil at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare with first half strikes scored by Weston McKennie and Douglas Luiz.

Genoa team news: Fresh injuries

Genoa have some fresh injury issues for this one as versatile defender Kingsley Ehizibue has been ruled out with Samuel Wiafe also a doubt for the hosts.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Biljow; Otoa, Ostigard, Johan Vasquez; Ellertsson, Traore, Frendrup, Mitaj; Junior Messias, El Shaarawy; Osmajic

Unavailable: Ehizibue (Injured), Sow (Injured), Venturino (Injured), Havel (Injured)

Questionable: Wiafe (Injured)

Juventus team news: Fresh injuries

Juventus head to Milan with some fresh injury absentees for this weekend as Nicolas Gonzalez is now sidelined alongside in-form Turkiye international defender Zeki Celik.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Vicario; Gatti, Bremer, Jhon Lucumi; Kalulu, McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Koopmeiners, Cambiaso; Woltemade, Kolo Muani

Unavailable: Grabara (Injured), Celik (Injured), Locatelli (Injured), Thuram (Injured), Conceicao (Injured), Yildiz (Injured), Gonzalez (Injured), Ekhator (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Questionable:

Genoa vs Juventus prediction

Juventus are trying to play a more proactive and entertaining style of football this season in Spalletti’s first full campaign in charge of Juve but they have remained fairly underwhelming throughout the campaign, unable to find consistency and cohesion at both ends of the pitch. De Rossi and his Genoa side will seek to frustrate the visitors here so while the visitors remain favourites, a lower scoring contest remains likely.

Genoa vs Juventus tip: Juventus to win & under 3.5 goals
